Evolver is seeking a Mid-Level Skype & Unified Comm Engineer to work in Manassas, VA 


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Evolver is seeking an experienced Skype and Unified Communications Engineer to join our team supporting government customer in Washington DC. In this role you will focus on operating, optimizing and troubleshooting communication platforms and infrastructure, including of Microsoft Skype for Business, Microsoft Exchange, and VOIP/UC integration. You will have the opportunity to work across a wide breadth of technologies, collaborating with all areas of the IT infrastructure team.


Minimum Qualifications and Requirements



  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience with Skype for Business Server.
  • Experience deploying and configuring Lync/Skype for Business audio, video and telephony solutions as well as integration with Exchange Unified Messaging
  • Strong knowledge of Voice-over-IP protocols and codecs
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and VOIP networks
  • Experience using relevant tools to triage, debug, and resolve problems (Snooper, Wireshark, Fiddler, Skype CLS logs, etc.)
  • Excellent documentation capabilities
  • Possess strong organizational skills, ability to work in a team and independently as well as multi-task effectively.

Technical Requirements (required and desired)


  • Plan, configure, deploy, and implement Skype for Business Lync/Skype for Business chat, media, voice and video capabilities
  • Participate in installing and configuring VOIP integration with Skype for Business.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Collaboration platforms.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with business application stakeholders and infrastructure teams to ensure successful deployment integration, and implementation
  • Make recommendations for training documentation; produce and maintain approved documentation
  • Conduct analysis to capability gaps and deficiencies
  • Plan, document, coordinate, and implement technical training activities
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III level technical support to end-users and serve as subject matter expert to resolve a variety of Skype for Business issue


Training and Certifications (required and desired)

  • BS or equivalent and eight years related experience or a MS and six years related experience
  • Ability to pass a Background and Badging by USCP.
