Evolver is seeking a Senior Cyber Analyst to work in Reston, VA.




Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maverick Cyber Defense seeks exceptionally qualified individuals to serve as a Senior Cyber Fusion Analyst in support of a DIA contract. The Intelligence Community Security Coordination Center (IC SCC) is a federal cyber center with a mission to ensure the execution of defensive activities, coordinate security monitoring across the IC, and maintain awareness of security-related threats, events, and incidents. 
The Sr. Cyber Fusion Analyst will work with a team of Analysts to collect and research cyber activities and threats to assess origin and impact to the Intelligence Community. They will mentor Jr. Analysts and lead the way with developing the proper context, content, and format for all outgoing communiques. They help write and distribute reports and tips to help harden and defend various IC organizations' systems. In this role, the Sr. Cyber Fusion Analyst will identify, publish, and/or distribute known countermeasures to the IC. They will assist the Analysis Lead with proofreading IC SCC products prior to IC distribution. They attend briefings and meetings with the Director and Deputy Director to provide analysis data, metrics, and recommendations as required. 
Sr. Cyber Fusion Analysts conduct analysis on current cyber threats and topics and provide insight to other analysts, Security Operations Centers (SOCs), Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs), and other IC Elements as appropriate. They will collect, triage, and analyze leads to track vulnerabilities. Working closely with the Vulnerability Management team, they provide prioritized recommendations to mitigate identified or detected issues. They work alongside the Tools, Services, and Engineering team to provide requirements and input for IC SCC related tools, sites, and applications. They will hold sessions with the Cyber Analysis community and collect technical and service requirements where the IC SCC may be able to provide more value as the core of IC Cyber activity. When necessary, they will aid the overall effort for conducting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) on IC SCC systems. 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

The position of Sr. Cyber Fusion Analyst shall possess the following qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of industry experience preferred; or equivalent education/experience. 
  • Strong communications skills: writing, briefings, and presentations 
  • Experience using Office products to include Word and Excel 
  • Excellent understanding of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and threats 
  • Expertise with cyber-related terms and technologies (i.e., SSH, MD5, SHA-256) 
  • Proficiency regarding cyberattack/cyber defense concepts (i.e., buffer overflow, DDoS, phishing, IDS, IPS, and firewalls) 
  • Understanding of the NIST National Vulnerability Database (NVD) and Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) 
  • Understanding of software vulnerabilities (identification and patching) 
  • Familiarity with the Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP) a plus 
  • Required DoD 8570 Certifications: IAT Level II or higher AND 

CSSP Analyst. Outstanding candidates will be provided 6 months to achieve certification(s).
