Evolver is seeking a Senior Cyber-security Practitioner and Cyber Exercise Planner to work in Reston, VA.




Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maverick Cyber-Defense now Evolver Inc., A Converged Security Solutions Company is seeking a Senior (10+ year's experience) cyber-security practitioner who seeks to develop cyber exercises (with back office cyber exercise SME support) to a large Federal Agency. Daily duties include cyber scenario development for a very large exercise that includes all aspects of the government, commercial entities, states, and infrastructures. This requires a person who thinks like an adversary, knows the weaknesses of a variety of technologies (as well as the wherewithal to seek and find new vectors for attack and exploitation), and possesses the ability to explain complex attack types and methods at a senior leadership level. Additional duties include response to ad hoc tasking (briefing preparation, RFI responses, etc.) related to the exercises and scenarios.

TS\SCI clearance a must. Must be highly organized and able to work in a dynamic, changing environment 

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Ideal candidate must write, speak, and present well, is comfortable working with and briefing a wide audience (from mid-level cyber practitioners up through senior Federal leaders with no cyber expertise), and has a creative desire to improve Federal cyber-security for this client by developing realistic cyber exercises with a unique approach.

A superior candidate will also have the opportunity to improve their cyber scenario development experience working with Maverick cyber exercise SMEs at other Federal, state, and commercial clients. Ability to work independently under deadlines and respond to ad hoc requests a must.

Technical Requirements (required and desired)

  • Advanced/Intermediate skill in writing reports for audiences up to the highest levels within an organization. 
  • Strong background in information security and Exercise Planning
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to obtain a CI Polygraph before start date
  • Active Top Secret SCI clearance required
  • Travel up to 20%
