    eVigilant, a Converged Security Solutions Company, is a CAD Designer to join our team.  You will work in Washington, DC. metro area.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    A CAD Designer uses computer-aided design to make drawings and documents which can be used in building, electrical, or systems designs. The CAD Designer is expected to operate as a part of a team. They are directly accountable to the Director of Engineering. The CAD Designer is required to create and control CAD files, supporting documentation and prints. They are to collaborate and communicate with engineering team and conduct field surveys as needed.  

     

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    Essential Job functions:

    • Create complex schematics, models and drawings to support engineering design. 
    • Provide support to engineers for design of single line diagrams of high and low voltage systems. Electrical drawing modifications including rack installations, switch gear installations, and low voltage panel installations.
    • Create security, lighting, and power distribution drawing blocks. 
    • Process revisions and redlines.
    • Perform field surveys of as-built cable routes and equipment locations.
    • Attend job kick-off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers as required. 
    • Review and understand customer specifications and Statements of Work.
    • Follow all CAD standards and procedures used by eVigilant.
    • Work with engineering to verify reliability of design. 
    • Provide support to Engineering staff to include device take-offs. 
    • Review drawings for design and create drawings from field sketches. 
    • Follow configuration requirements for documentation control. 
    • Interface with other departments and project managers to support various projects. 
    • Contribute to product improvement, standardization and creation of CAD standard block library.
    • Assist in providing CAD estimates as required.
    • Knowledge and ability in Revit is a plus.
     
     

    Training and Certifications (required and desired)

    • Experience and Skills:

      2 years technical training, or equivalent experience.
