    Evolver is seeking a Splunk Engineer to work in Washington, DC.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    The Splunk engineer will work with other Cybersecurity Engineering team members and will be required to interact with end users to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and provide assistance with the creation of Splunk search queries and dashboards. The engineer will drive complex deployments of Splunk while working side by side with the customer to solve their unique problems across a variety of use cases, collaborate across the customer’s organization to get the right solution delivered and drive feature innovation gathered from the customer’s input, and leverage previous experiences, share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of Splunk for the customer.  The Splunk engineer:

    1. Provides technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
    2. Participates as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.
    3. Applies principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements


      The Splunk engineer will, as necessary,

      1. Design Splunk Deployments
      2. Perform Splunk administration tasks such as installing, configuring, monitoring and tuning.
      3. Create Dashboards, Visualizations, Statistical reports, scheduled searches, alerts and knowledge objects.
      4. Integrate event feeds from customer specified event sources into Splunk
      5. Provide recommendations and implement changes to optimize Splunk products in customer environments
      6. Write and develop custom scripts, programs as needed
      7. Support Splunk on UNIX, Linux and Windows-based platforms.
      8. Assist with automation of processes and procedures

    Technical Requirements (required and desired)


      • 4-7 years of experience
      • Experience with the Splunk IT Service Intelligence module and AWS engineering experience
      • Compute monitoring
      • Linux and Windows administration and monitoring experience
      • Strong technical knowledge in VMware (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter)
      • Experience with VROps

    Training and Certifications (required and desired)


    • CISSP preferred
    • Certified in Splunk


    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
    • Master’s degree preferred
