    Evolver is seeking a candidate for a Service Desk position with System Administrator responsibilities on the NSWC PHD IT Support Services contract located in Port Hueneme, CA (near Ventura, CA).

     

    CANDIDATE MUST HAVE ACTIVE GOVERNMENT ISSUED SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Apply operating system upgrades as needed to meet industry standards for Windows workstations and Server Operating Systems.
    • Maintain and administer Windows and Red Hat virtual servers within ESXi 6.0 utilizing VSphere Client to perform snapshots, recovery, and physical resource allocation such as CPU, RAM, and independent drives as needed. Remote Desktop Protocol and PuTTY are used for remote management of virtual and physical server assets.
    • Implement software updates and configuration changes across RedHat and Windows OS workstations and servers to meet the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security
    • Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) requirements.
    • Analyze system logs, application logs, and system health checks to pro-actively determine, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues in system hardware, software, networking devices, and configurations; to be managed as a check-list preventative maintenance items.
    • Introduce and implement technologies and solutions to improve the systems’ efficiency, the operators’ processes, or to design new system capabilities. Each solution will be prepared and presented to the Change Control Board (CCB) to present and identify implementation strategies, risk assessment factors, recovery plans, and subject expertise before being implemented in a test environment to non-critical systems. Additional CCB requested implementations offered by the systems administrator will also include system patching, software updates, and other system maintenance tasks.
    • User account administration with Active Directory to create and maintain user accounts approved by government authority. Active Directory account maintenance will be performed for administrative and non-administrative users, service accounts, and domain security groups for network resource allocation, application services; such as for Symantec Backup Exec and ACAS; and Organizational Unit (OU) and Group Policy Object (GPO) management.
    • Operate ACAS Security Center to update plugin feeds, manage repositories, manage Nessus scanners, monitor vulnerability assessment results daily. Scan activities will be performed to identify and resolve system vulnerabilities across Windows servers, Red Hat servers, end-user devices, system networking devices, and multifunction print devices.
    • Perform information security tasks such as planning, presenting, and implementing Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) patch compliance, STIG configurations, and vulnerability resolution/mitigation. Additional system information will be gathered and presented to the cyber security departments as requested.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    • Preferable Skills with the following software:

        • Active Directory
        • Group Policy Object Management (GPO)
        • Office 2010, 2013, 2016
      • Additional Software
        • DISA STIG Viewer 2.7.1 or higher
        • SCAP Scanner versions 5.0.2 or higher
        • ACAS 5.6 or higher
        • VSphere 6.0.0 or higher

    Technical Requirements (required and desired)

    • CompTIA Security+ and MCTS (70-680): Windows 7, Configuration preferred
    • 2+ years Windows Administration.
    • Customer service orientation, knowledge and experience of customer service practices.
    • Problem-solving capabilities, adaptability and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills and consultative personality. Willingness to follow directives.

    Training and Certifications (required and desired)

    • DOD Active Secret Clearance is required for hire.
