    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Job Information:

    The Cyber Engineer/Architect will define and validate technical security requirements for proposed IT systems, and document system security design approaches and/or determine if system design approaches meet mission security requirements. Integrate cybersecurity considerations into systems engineering and design processes and shall ensure that the cybersecurity portions of the overall system design are reflected in all generated system engineering and design documents, test plans, procedures, and reports. Ensure that cybersecurity boundaries (e.g., crypto boundary, authorization boundary, classification boundary) are clearly and consistently identified in all generated program documents and drawings. Perform network security management services that includes assisting the Government with managing access restrictions to network facilities/resources, as well as protecting the confidentiality, authenticity, and integrity of network management data (e.g., routing tables, access lists, and audit data protection).

     

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Determines enterprise information assurance and security standards.
    • Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures.
    • Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.
    • Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations.
    •  Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. 
    • Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies. 
    • Applies know-how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures. 
    • Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
    •  Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
    • Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements. 
    • Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution. 
    • Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
    • Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle. 
    • Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    Minimum Experience

    • 5+ years of experience

    Technical Requirements (required and desired)

    Relevant experience

    • Understanding of medical systems and associated cybersecurity requirements.  Clinical systems experience desired.
    • Experience with medical devices and their operation, installation and security

    Training and Certifications (required and desired)

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Assurance, Information Security, Cyber Intelligence or similar discipline preferred

    Certification

    • Security+ or CISSP certification preferred
